Pheasant Tail
Hook: Nymph, 1X long, #14-18
Thread: Brown
Tail: Ring neck pheasant tail barbs Body: Ring neck pheasant tail barbs, wrapped
Rib: Copper wire
Abdomen: Peacock herl
Wing case: Pheasant tail, folded over thorax
Legs: Few fibers from wing case, pulled down and tied back
Note: Gold bead inserted behind hook eye.

Olive Serendipity
Hook: Curved nymph hook, #14-22 Thread: Olive 6/0 or 8/0
Body: Olive Z-lon, twisted into a rope and wrapped tightly
Head: Natural deer body hair, spun and trimmed to form a collar on top and small head in front
Note: You can substitute black or gray thread and red Z-lon for a Red Serendipity.

Black Beaded-Body Stonefly Hook: Tiemco 200R or Daiichi 1270
Thread: Black 6/0 Danville Flymaster or 8/0 Uni-Thread
Underbody: Black Dubbing or Yarn Abdomen: 1 or 2 sizes of black seed beads
Tail: Dyed black goose biots
Wing Pads & Head: Black goose wing, treated with flexament
Legs: Black Hen Saddle Antennae: Dyed black goose biot
This pattern is a creative stonefly nymph from the vise of Farrow Allen.


Zug Bug
Hook: Nymph hook, 1X or 2X long, #8-16
Thread: Black 6/0 or 8/0
Tail: 3 peacock sword feathers Body: Peacock herl tied full
Rib: Oval silver tinsel
Legs: Brown hackle applied as beard
Wingcase: Mallard flank, tied in at head and trimmed to extend over thorax

The rockworm is the common name for Rhyacophila, a free-living caddis, commonly found throughout North Carolina and Tennessee.
